Member accounts and your personal data

If you create a StarCity account we store the name, email address and — where you give one — the mobile number you provide, together with any booking references you choose to add. Your password is never stored: we keep only a one-way cryptographic hash of it, which cannot be turned back into the password you chose.

We use this to identify you when you sign in, to show you the bookings on your account, and to let reception find your stay. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Marketing email is separate from having an account: you receive it only if you ask for it when signing up, and you can stop at any time without affecting your account.

Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act you may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Write to us and we will act on it.

The StarCity assistant

The assistant on this site sends what you type, together with published information about the hotel, to OpenAI, which generates the reply. Please do not type payment card details or identity document numbers into it — it does not need them, and the front desk is the right place for anything sensitive.

We do not store your conversations. They exist in your browser for as long as the page is open and are gone when you close it. OpenAI retains messages for a limited period under its own abuse-monitoring policy. If you are signed in and ask about your booking, the assistant is shown only the bookings on your own account.

Answers are generated and can be wrong. Nothing the assistant says is a booking, a quote or a guarantee of availability — please confirm anything that matters with reception.

Star Rewards

If you join Star Rewards we keep a record of the points you earn and why — the stay they came from, the number of nights, and who at the hotel credited them. That record is append-only, so a correction is added rather than overwriting what came before, and you can ask us for a copy of it at any time.

Waiver of Claims

You agree to waive all claims and rights relating to the use of this Site against Star City Hotel ("the Hotel"), including all claims and rights for any direct, indirect, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of this Site.

Disclaimer

The materials and information on this Site, including but not limited to services, products, data, text, graphics, audio, video, links, and other items, are provided by the Hotel and/or its group of companies on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no express or implied warranties, representations, or endorsements, including but not limited to warranties of title, non-infringement, merchantability, usefulness, operation, completeness, accuracy, satisfactory quality, reliability, and fitness for a particular purpose arising from your use of this Site. We disclaim such warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. We shall not be responsible for any damages suffered as a result of your use of the information on this Site, and we are not liable for any indirect, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of this Site or the information contained herein. We do not warrant or represent that access to the whole or parts of this Site, or the materials, information, and functions contained herein, will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that no viruses or other harmful components will be transmitted.

Modification

The information on this site may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. The Hotel reserves the right to change the format and content of the website at any time without prior notice. By using this website, you agree to accept such changes in advance. The Hotel may terminate, change, suspend, discontinue any aspect of the website, impose limits on certain features and services or restrict your access, without notice or liability. The website may be suspended for maintenance, updates, or other reasons.

Registration Obligations

When using the Service, you agree to:

• Provide true, accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Maintain and promptly update your information to keep it accurate and complete.

If you provide false or incomplete information, the Hotel may suspend or terminate your access and refuse future use of the Service.

This website may contain links to third-party sites, for which the Hotel is not responsible. These links are for your convenience and do not imply endorsement by the Hotel. Use these third-party sites at your own risk, and take protective measures against viruses or other harmful elements.

User Conduct

You are solely responsible for all content that you upload, post, or transmit via the Service. You agree not to use the Service to:

• Transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, invasive of privacy, or hateful.
• Engage in behaviour that could harm minors.
• Interfere with other users enjoyment of the interactive features.
• Transmit viruses or harmful components.
• Alter, damage, or delete content that does not belong to you.
• Infringe on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights.
• Violate any local, state, national, or international laws.
• Collect or store personal information about other users without their consent.
• Interfere with the Service or its networks, or disobey network requirements.
• Impersonate any person, including but not limited to the Hotel official, forum leader, guide, or host, and do not misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

All trademarks, service marks, and logos displayed on this Site are the exclusive properties of the Hotel and/or their respective third-party proprietors as identified on this Site and are protected by applicable Malaysian and international laws. These trademarks, service marks, or logos shall not be reproduced, downloaded, copied, modified, or otherwise used without our express prior written consent.

This Site and its content, including but not limited to information, designs, and software, are the exclusive properties of the Hotel and are protected by applicable Malaysian and international laws. Except for non-commercial individual use, no part of this Site may be modified, copied, distributed, retransmitted, broadcast, displayed, performed, reproduced, published, licensed, transferred, sold, or commercially dealt with in any manner without our express prior written consent.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and keep us indemnified against all liabilities, claims, losses, and expenses, including any legal fees, incurred in connection with or arising from (1) your use or misuse of this Site and the services provided herein; (2) your breach of these terms and conditions; or (3) any intellectual property right or proprietary right infringement claim made by a third party against us in connection with your use of this Site.

No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any one or more of these terms and conditions at any time shall not constitute a waiver of such terms and conditions or the right to enforce them at any time subsequently.
